This is how it all began:
Swift Waters was created in December of 2003 with a loan from the Willimantic
Food Cooperative and space donated by the Victorian Neighborhood association.
Proceeds from the December Artisans were used to form Swift Waters and
open a storefront on Main Street in Willimantic in July of 2004.
Swift Waters strives to give back and support the community by encouraging young artisans and crafters. This is accomplished in part by hosting school art shows, holding artisan demonstrations by members, and providing a meeting space for community organizations.
And now....
Today Swift Waters Artisans Cooperative is a non-juried cooperative with over 100 members. We run an eclectic store with members providing art and craftworks in a multitude of disciplines providing an exceptional selection of unique, high-quality merchandise..
