Pat Miller first became an artist in her middle years, after 20 years as an academic trained in literature. Now, she happily creates photographs, cartoons, and box art. Often combining her love of language with her visual art, she creates work that is both serious and entertaining, irreverent and elegiac.
Her photography includes animal portraits, landscapes, seascapes, abstracts, and a series of pictures of her own shadow, captured as she casts it on a startling variety of surfaces.
She has exhibited her prize-winning work at multiple venues in Connecticut, Rhode, Island, Massachusetts, and California, and her pieces are in private collections across the US, as well as in the UK. She lives in Willimantic and Charlestown, RI.
