Harriet Taylor-Thorpe

Sculpted jewelry by Harriet

Originally from an artistic island community in Florida, Harriet Taylor-Thorpe began sculpting in clay as a child, working with her artist mother and as a sculpture’s apprentice. At Boston’s School of the Museum of Fine Arts, she specialized in old masters techniques – egg tempera, gold

leafing, woodcarving and lithography. With precious metal clays, Harriet discovered the amazing beauty of combining sculpting and jewelry making – and took courses in this art at the Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan, CT.

Inspired by nature – and often molded directly from local plants and flowers – each piece by Harriet is:

– Created individually

– Sculpted and molded by hand

– Made from sustainable, recycled materials

– 99.9% fine silver, sterling or bronze (or a combination thereof)
